Learning Styles

Talking to your student about their preferred learning style can be an insightful and useful way to learn how to teach them in the method that they best receive and process information.

Administer a few of these online tests and discuss the results with your student. Some sites include helpful tips on lesson ideas once the particular learning style has been identified. Try one for yourself, too!

  • Learning Style Inventory (24 questions to print out with scoring procedure, from Glendale College English Lab.)
  • Learning Styles Overview (From Learning-Styles-Online.com site.)
    • Choose: "Learning Styles Inventory"
    • Next page in middle, find: "New Users: Start the free online learning styles inventory."
  • VARK - A Guide to Learning Styles (Information on how to teach to certain learning style preferences. Includes questionnaire.)
